Summary
In 1780 Pitt is a penniless barrister; by 1785 he is running the country. But during his rapid and celebrated rise to power, the precociously talented young politician's private life does not always conform with his public image. While his friendship with Wilberforce becomes ever more intimate, the inconvenient consequences of certain youthful misdeeds could imperil both that relationship and his burgeoning career.

Notes
Horrifying. And amazing. And apparently historically inaccurate in many ways, but I can't help but think that it communicates something really profound about our Founding Fathers. (Namely, that they were ugly. Especially Franklin.)
