The usual love story: boy meets girl under a salad leaf during the confusing time when he is trying to figure out the world and what he is in the first place. With a nature twist and some drama. This story is inspired by Haruki Murakami's "Samsa in love", which appeared in English on The New Yorker Oct 28th 2013. And five pets we had as kids that turned into fifty over the winter.
(Hilariously, it turns out Murakami's work is in turn inspired by a story from Kafka where the metamorphosis is in the same direction as in this fic, which reverses that of Murakami who reversed the Kafka. So this is really a second-degree fan fiction.)
