    Summary

“So you’re saying the king lost his own crown,” Bakszén drawled, evidently making up for lack of makeup and the fact that he was wearing nothing but a skull-patterned bedsheet by sheer bald-faced arrogance, “That’s… sad, but I don’t really see what Józsiás’ ineptitude has to do with me.”

In which Durmonyás, Hell's most famous detective (which is not saying much), solves mysteries at Fairyland castle, with the more or less welcome and useful help of his boss and his royally assigned hapless mortal.

    Summary

Bakszén has been bombarding his entourage with selfies ranging from ridiculous to sexy to downright pornographic. Durmonyás, to his sexually frustrated chagrin, has been tasked with image control.

“Really? A rose tattoo on his—” Ropogán made a face at the phone held at arm’s length. Durmonyás didn’t have to look at the screen; he’d memorized both the stupid tattoo and the arse it was applied to. The stupid, muscular, nicely curved arse. “Why is he even sending me these?

“He’s sending them to everyone,” Durmonyás said gloomily. “He likes feedback. You’re lucky he doesn’t try to get you to reply.”

    Summary

Durmonyás was definitely not worried about Boricz, who had been out in the snow for possibly a century, or at least several hours. Humans were used to this sort of thing, after all, and he'd been wearing a hat made of some extremely furry animal that was probably even more used to this sort of thing.

In which Boricz finally attempts to teach Durmonyás about the fun part of winter. Established relationship in handwavy fix-it universe.

    Summary

He was in the process of sitting up straight when Boricz started laughing, which probably made his irritated glare a tad more impressive than it would have been from the level of the tabletop. Boricz was still not impressed; but then again he rarely was. Durmonyás had never met someone before who could laugh at him with such regularity and not make it feel insulting.

“Are you quite done deriding my cultural heritage?” he asked drily. These were the sort of expressions one picked up working as an official in a foreign country, especially if one’s job involved protecting a certain Prince’s fragile ego. These days no-one at court dared to laugh openly at Bakszén, just in case they were unwittingly making fun of time-honored Hell customs that required their royals to act like complete prats.

In which there is a lot of fairy wine and not enough sleep, Boricz has a tempting offer and Durmonyás has to be the sensible one.

Boricz and Durmonyás bond over being the odd man out, with the help of some very strong fairy wine.

    Summary

Durmonyás accidentally lets slip that he doesn't really mind the whip. Unfortunately, Bakszén has a tendency to ruin things by talking. (Set in an AU where Bakszén's attempted coup never goes so far and things remain light-hearted and cracky.)

One week after Durmonyás starts working for Bakszén, his boss decides he really needs a makeover.

    Summary

Every time Bakszén managed to make Józsiás back away, uncomfortable, he felt a little better about the whole stabbing thing. And it was easy—all he had to do was be friendly. Being friendly was practically one of his ambassadorial duties. Humans were so weird about personal space.

Bakszén is the Most Helpful Ambassador Ever, provided what you need is invasion of personal space and things being set on fire; Józsiás has weird ideas about what constitutes dirty talk; everyone else has a betting pool going on when they're going to finally admit something's up.
