    At four installments in, this is a fascinating alt-future indeed -- a future Buffyverse gone oddly thoughtful and cozy in some ways, yet with the essential irreverence, wit, and colorful SFX entirely intact. The choice of returning co-stars makes the texture all the more enticing; it's a relatively untapped combination, and makes for intriguing chemistry.
