Summary
As untraditional as their lives were, Phil Coulson was something of a traditionalist. He was able to think on his feet and change a plan on the fly when need be and still work within the parameters of a mission objective. While this was all true for his performance reviews, it did not really parse with the fact that he would really like to marry his girlfriend and she kept telling him no.
