If You Were...
25 Jun 2012
Sherlock and John meet as potential flatmates, just in time for John to get a more attractive offer as a partner in Irene Adler's business. This calls for discretion, so he reluctantly refuses Sherlock's offer to share a flat, but he can't quite get Sherlock Holmes out of his mind.
A series of suicides provides Sherlock with a much-needed distraction. A dead cabbie gives Sherlock the next clue in the game: the name Moriarty. And when John Watson comes back into the game, Sherlock can't help but wonder where to draw the line between coincidence and fact.

John sent Sherlock away.
John’s eyes had been entirely cold. (That was a strange way to describe them, wasn’t it? Temperature-based metaphor standing in for emotions. Messy, not empirical.)
Emotions have never really been Sherlock’s area.

Allied with the unlikely team of Molly Hooper, Mrs. Hudson, and DI Lestrade, Sherlock Holmes has to evade Mycroft's interference in order to hunt down John's enemy, so they can be together again.
With the safety of his friends and loved ones threatened, John Watson is forced to work carefully to uncover the identity of the unknown enemy who came between him and Sherlock.
And all Jim Moriarty wants is to recruit John into his criminal organization, or at least figure out just what it is that makes John so damned interesting.
