Notes:

This started off as me re-writing ASiB and, uh, escalated. Expect me to keep doing this as long as people keep reading.

Some basic facts for those who like to know this stuff going in, rather than eight stories down the line: Sherlock is ace, Joan is heterosexual, there's eventual femslash planned despite this, albeit unconventionally. There will never be any sex. I'm not sure if I'll make it AU post-s2 or not; we'll see how long it takes me to get there.
