    Okay, I'm biased -- I helped with some of these, but it's the rich storytelling that makes me want to reread the whole thing over and over.

    Excellent series, but give yourself time. It sucks you in, and it's novel-length. Well plotted, OCs with well defined personalities and back-stories, curious historical facts and foibles, generous amounts of snark and sarcasm, ...

    ...but you _have_ to begin with the previous series, where Aidan first comes onto the scene...
