Summary
In the days and months following the events in Cuba, Raven attempts adapt to her hazardous and violent new life as a member of Erik's fledgling Brotherhood of Mutants.
The other recruits – Shaw's old people – are unknown quantities, and Raven struggles to overcome her fear of these dangerous strangers who will eventually become her comrades. In the process, she is surprised to find herself drawn toward Azazel.
Meanwhile, Erik and Charles are slowly working toward reconciliation, both in their personal relationship and in their politics. They enter a period of tentative rapprochement, and begin to help one another in recruiting new Mutants into their respective organizations. In the process of doing so, the Brotherhood encounters many new Mutants, including Remy, Toad and Fred Dukes.
DEVIL is the first of three novel-length fics in the FALLING series, which will seek to link X-Men: First Class to the events of X1 and X2 (X-Men: Last Stand and the Wolverine films are not canonical to this universe). The intent of these stories is to explain how the characters we saw in XMFC became who they are in the original two films.

Summary
When Raven has bad dreams, Charles does too.
When Raven and Charles were little, Raven would sneak into his room to sleep in his bed with him almost every night, because she still didn't feel safe in that big old house with the servants and her new “parents” wandering around.
And most nights she would dream about what her parents had tried to do to her. She never remembered these nightmares when she woke up, but they had a way of leaking out of her mind and working their way into Charles's, infecting his own dreams.

Summary
“Teach me how count in English,” Azazel asked Kurt, folding his lanky frame down onto the couch beside Raven and Kurt and haling the boy into his lap.
Raven recognized the question as being fictitious; Azazel’s grasp of English might not have been entirely flawless, but certainly he could count much higher than the three-year old. But he often posited questions to the boy in this way: I don’t know how. Show me.
It was a good tactic to use with Kurt, who was so eager to be helpful but desperately shy, and Raven wondered how Azazel had come up with it. Something he’d learned during his brief formative years in a top-secret Soviet “orphanage,” maybe?
In any case, it worked now… or at least, right up until Kurt ran out of fingers and found himself stuck on what came after six.

Summary
They probably would have died if he hadn't gone back, and that was why Azazel had done so. He liked very much the idea of having such people beholden to him. Azazel knew also that their reaction to him would be specular, and he enjoyed getting reactions from others. He had much experience in mapping the way an individual might respond to the realization that Azazel had taken his life from him, but he knew less about how someone might react to find that his life had been given back, and he was curious.
They'd rallied around Xavier when he'd appeared on the beach with a swirl of black and red smoke, and the woman had pointed her silly gun at him. There were things he might have said then – clever things, funny things, things that might have cut more sharply than his blades – but his English was a traitorous thing; at moments like this it was apt to abandon him completely. He cocked his head and stared down at Xavier, and felt that this gave the most impressive impression.

Summary
Erik would learn very quickly that there was no course of action he could take that would not be seen as an invitation to the human-run media to compare him to that vile little Austrian with the absurd facial-hair. It was like a compulsion with them. They could think within no other framework.
At first, it did not shock him; he'd found that such comparisons were cheap here. And initially there were very few people in the world who knew of the connection between the ringleader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants' “terror cell” and poor little orphaned Erik Lehnsherr, one unremarkable victim among millions of others. He did not speak with an accent unless he wished to do so, and it took the media a long time to catch onto the fact that man who called himself Magneto was not a native Anglophone. He wore long-sleeves, and no one guessed.

Summary
Two years following Cuba, an uneasy alliance has been formed between the two Mutant factions headed by Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. While Charles works to build a school and safe haven for young Mutants, Erik is recruiting new members into the Brotherhood, intent on preparing for a war which he believes to be inevitable.
Raven is caught in the middle, attempting to adapt to her new life as Erik's right-hand woman and to motherhood. As Kurt nears his second birthday, the discovery of a new Mutant - Irene Alder - leaves Raven questioning not only her relationship with Azazel but her own dedication to the Brotherhood as well.
When a surprise visit by Charles to the Brotherhood's Headquarters inadvertently brings a dangerous new Mutant, one James Howlett (AKA, The Wolverine), into the organization, the situation quickly spirals out of control. Disaster is looming for both the Brotherhood of Mutants and the Xavier Institute, but not even Irene Alder can predict the shape of what's to come.
Sequel to DEVIL, FATE runs from the year 1963 to 1966.
