How can I get help or technical support on the Archive?
Some frequently asked questions about the Archive are answered in the broader Archive FAQ. If you have a problem or question that is not addressed in our FAQs, you can contact Support through the Support and Feedback form. You can find a link to the Support and Feedback form in the Archive's footer. If you have technical issues using the form on the Archive, please use the backup form on transformativeworks.org.
If you're experiencing technical issues with the site, you can help Support resolve your issue more quickly by including information in your message about how you're using the site. For example, you can include the device and operating system you're using, your browser and version number, and exactly what steps you took to get the result you are reporting. Don't forget to include your email address if you want an answer. You may need to check that the response email is not in your spam folder–to avoid this problem, consider whitelisting emails from the domain @transformativeworks.org.
How can I tell you what I think about the Archive?
You can send your feedback to Support through the Support and Feedback form. You can find a link to the Support and Feedback form in the Archive's footer. You can submit feedback anonymously, or you can include your email address and a member of the team will get back to you. If you have technical issues using the form on the Archive, please use the backup form on transformativeworks.org.
How do I report a violation of the Archive's Terms of Service?
There are some things you should be aware of when making a report:
- Please be sure that what you're reporting does violate the Terms of Service. You can check this by reviewing the Terms of Service and the Terms of Service FAQ.
- Every report is investigated as fully as possible based on the information provided. Additional reports regarding the same issue, unless they provide extra necessary information, don't increase the speed at which an issue is resolved or raise the priority of a report. However, as we do look into every report we receive, sending multiple reports regarding a single issue may slow down how efficiently we can respond to this and other inquiries.
- If an anonymous report doesn't contain all necessary information about the Terms of Service violation, we may be unable to investigate the matter because we have no way to contact you for more details. If you're reporting anonymously, please be as thorough as you can.
How do I find out whether specific content is allowed on the Archive?
The Abuse team oversees all issues related to the Terms of Service and any violations thereof. To find out whether specific content is allowed on the Archive or if it might violate the Terms of Service, you can contact the Abuse team by filing an Abuse Report. You can ask about your own work or another creator’s work–all Abuse reports are strictly confidential.
Please be aware that, while we will do our best to provide accurate advice based on the information you provide, we may review our decision in an investigation if new relevant information becomes available to us.
Can I contact Archive staff anonymously?
Yes, you can. Both the Support and Feedback form and the Report Abuse form allow you to omit identifying information like your account name or email address. However, the Archive does register IP addresses.
If you are logged in when you access the Support and Feedback form or the Report Abuse form, your email address will automatically be filled in, so if you want to be anonymous, be sure to remove it from the "Your email (optional)" field. Your query will be addressed regardless, based on the information you've provided, but you won't receive a reply from us. Because we can't contact anonymous users for additional information, please be as thorough as you can.
Who do I contact if an answer in the FAQ is wrong or overly confusing?
