Ah, I liked this very much - like you, Touya's magic vanishing like that never sat well with me, and this is a very clever solution and explanation for it behaving the way it did while also returning (one I am minorly kicking myself for not thinking of personally - way to drop the ball, Trickster). In any case, I enjoyed this one a lot (and the whole series as well, to be honest!)
It just seemed so unlike CLAMP, really. I mean, it isn't always pretty but people do tend to get their magic /back/ in most CLAMP stories. Great to hear the idea worked for you!
Definitely! And even if it wasn't... I tend to conceptualize magic as you did in this fic, just in general, so this really was a great and reassuring thing to read!
