I always think my interpretation of Sunstreaker isn't so well received in fandom, because he lacks the "playboy-attitude", and is just overall crazy and vicious. *lol
I really need to write more of him! :D Thank you again for all the comments! They really cheer me up! :D I'm very sorry that I couldn't answer earlier. I hope you didn't think I ignored you. ._. RL has been troublesome, and will stay like this for a while. I'm sorry. ._.
The TF Fandom - the part that writes and or reads fan fic (but specifically the writers, obviously)- has in general really twisted Sunstreaker's personality to make him more soft sparked and -dare I say it - romantic, so to speak (your play-boy attitude). All official descriptions of his personality point to Sunstreaker...hmmm...how to put this nicely... not being the most personable mech the autobots have. But that does not make for good reading or easy writing. As a writer, as a 'generally good' human, it is hard to write someone so nasty. It is much easier to glaze over the truth or excuse it and twist it to fit what we need for the storyline. And then soon, this is the type of character we perceive Sunstreaker as and seeing him portrayed in a more nasty vain can be disquieting. Skywarp is another mech who more often than not gets the soft treatment as well. All that being said, yes, writing a character to be nasty does seem to find a smaller fan appeal (it messes with the romanticized image of the character we carry in our heads). Either that or we're all to shy to admit we like twisted Autobots. *shrug*
Anyhow, I love how you write him. You don't shy away from the nasty parts, but you present and convey them with careful thought and tact. Do I hate seeing him be truly outright nasty - depends on the situation I suppose, but probably yes because as a 'generally good' human I understand right and wrong and he's an Autobot and they shouldn't be blatantly nasty (plus it messes with my romanticized image of him).
In this story though, he was perfect. So very, very perfect.
