    Wow. First off, the story is *fantastic*. The way Neal's perspective changes over time, but still so very lonely through it all. I love the moments you've chosen to tell this, and the interactions with the other characters really ring true.

    Second, it's also a fantastic remix. It's hard to remix something so intense yet ungrounded -- no specific scenes or dialogue. But you wove the lines of the original into the story here with such perfect finesse.

      I have to confess I liked having something without a lot of detail to remix, it gives me a lot of room to explore. And writing missing scenes is a lot of fun.
