Comment on Tabula Rasa

  1. This story (and the one that preceded it) are just absolutely brilliant in that both Erik and Charles are marvelously in characterization, and the way they speak to each other is very believable. I find the sentiment echoed by Charles about being a stranger in a foreign land where everyone likes you,but does not know WHO YOU ARE. I feel that this may be a key reason to their friendship and understanding of each other. It makes all the more sense (if you want to marry your fic to canon) that Erik and Charles maintain an uneasy truce whenever they meet (or even patch up their friendship in the middle) unlike Raven and Charles; is because they are, indeed two halves of the same coin. Your story reinforces with unerring accuracy. That makes it all the more sad, unfortunately, knowing what is to come. Very well written, especially the last line. Whether you look at them as a slash pairing, or as very close friends, calling the emotion shared 'love' seems to trivial. Massive kudos, and I hope you write more in this vein!

    1. Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the story, and I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. I'm glad the characterizations worked for you; I wasn't sure with Erik - I think I'm still getting the hang of him, yet. But I am considering writing something along this same general idea from his point of view. Regardless, thanks again for commenting!
