    Brilliant. Simply brilliant! I love the shards, the experiment - it was very plausible without needing to be wordy (in other words, I believe that there could be an experiment and that it did happen and I'm grateful that you didn't bog the story down with unnecessary details). Additionally it flowed so naturally with it being a young love and with hints of the more mature romances they would later have (very adult like).
