I really like the characters you've created. Both Jacob and Alexander had very distinct voice, IMO. I saw a few links back to the lyrics which were very nice touches.
Following the lyrics seemed important to me, since I don't know a thing about nuclear wars or military actions and thus couldn't place the story in the midst of the song's events. It's nice to know that people can catch the references.
