Comment on Introduction To Skins

My other issue, besides the horrendous color choices on the new default, is that the header is giving me claustrophobia. I can use the wizard to change the colors, but I just want some more padding around the buttons on the header without making a whole new skin. Also, apparently the wizard doesn't change the color of the boxes with the stories in them.

Okay, strike all of that. The tutorial above was very helpful. Luckily, I do know something about writing code, so I've modified 'For the Trees' to do what I want. Mostly. At the moment, I'm tired of looking at CSS. Not trying to be bitchy or anything, I'm just very frustrated. But hey, new skills are always good, right?

And my skin is back to being soothing instead of disturbing, so it's all good.

I'm glad to hear you were able to get a skin you liked - if you have specific feedback on the steps involved, we'd love to hear them in Support.

I couldn't have done it if I didn't have the Web Developer toolbar already installed. If you really want to make this easy, there should be a post that says what class does what. I had to keep looking at the element information to see what things were called. And even then, changing things didn't always have an effect. I got tired of trying to figure it out. Not really what I had planned for my day yesterday.

I'll copy this into support, though, as you suggested.
