Comment on The Princess and the Pirate

  1. You've certainly taken to the language of pirates as if you were a pirate yourself. At least, I find it all very convincing and entertaining.

I love the interaction between Faris and Lenna. The way Faris is ever so slightly condescending and solicitous at once. I am absolutely delighted that you're writing this.

This is exactly why I fell for Faris, but you're doing it so much better than the game. Her flippant attitude and her competency in her milieu as a pirate shine through every phrase. But you haven't forgotten to add the twinges of fear and uncertainty that must come from someone who is playing a role (however well) and fears to be caught out. Oh, yes, this reminds me why I was so taken with the character even if the story barely caught my notice. She's like all the best cross-dressing Shakespeare heroines at once!

I like that Lenna has some spine as well and I enjoyed the training session.

Ahahaha I really like how Galuf gets all irate about the dragon-pirate. Also, moat-monster makes me giggle.

As for the painting. I'm glad you found it inspiring if it helped at all to produce this! You single-handedly give me hope for final fantasy fanfiction often as not. Also, what really inspired me for the painting, was, well, you know the sad part of Faris and Hydra's story.

Anyway, I am going to look forward to more of this!
