Wonderful opening - just like the show! And the fic only got better from there. I love the subtle flirting, the fact that they're clearly a bit older than they were but still full of style and verve (even if they are no longer "truly effervescent"), and of course the inclusion of champagne! I hope they have a great time in Canada - assuming Emma can get away from her obligations long enough, of course!
