    OH MY GAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWD, DEAR AUTHOR.

    THIS IS SO PERFECT. I HAVE NO WORDS FOR HOW PERFECT THIS IS. Francis who is a RASCAL but a rascal for a good cause, and not quite perfect at his schemes at that tender age! And Richard, who is DADDY'S LITTLE BOY and the unofficial keeper of the proper order of things and LIKE TEN YEARS OLDER and therefore honestly somewhere closer to an adult for these kids, even for Francis, AHAHAHAHAHA SERIOUSLY. MY HEART. And ELOISE! Foller and instigator, the reason Francis works so hard to make up games and be ~the protector~, WITH THESE TWO YOUNGER GIRLS ~UNDER HIS CARE~ OMG AHAHAHA seriously. I LOVE Francis' character here, how perfectly it mirrors who he later becomes (and makes me wonder what he looked like to Meg Douglas upon their first meeting). AND RICHARD AND HIS "OK OK FINE I GUESS YOU GUYS SHOULD COME IN THEN". He is just so perfectly somewhere between childhood and adulthood, here.

    AND CHRISTIAN, OMG CHRISTIAN EEEEEEEE determined to blend in and be no trouble and at the same time gifted and honest and brave and accepting of Francis' leadership and attempts to make special allowances for her and at the same time impatient with them. AND THE GAMES, AHAHAHA, OMG. And Christian's desire to be naughty and admit it when she's being naughty. LADY CHRISTIAN STEWART WILL GODDAMN OWN HER NAUGHTY, THANK YOU. LIFE PRESENTS SO FEW OPPORTUNITIES AS IT IS.

    AND ELOISE AND CHRISTIAN. EEEEE. GOD, really makes you wonder how they would have gotten along, and how they DID get along by the time Eloise was 13. GAH.

    AND FRANCIS' FINAL LINE, AHAHAHAHAHAH. Seriously, HOW MUCH OF A TROUBLEMAKER WAS THIS KID? HOW MUCH? AHAHAHA I'm surprised the castle survived his adolescence.

      WHEEE, I am so glad you liked this! I was seriously worried when I found out that you had only just finished the first book - that's part of the reason I noodged the (other) mods about a Dear Author letter. Your reading posts were a lot of help too!
