Wow, talking about the road not traveled. It was appalling to realize they would condemn their counterparts to sure death because MAYBE something would happen. That was creepy and horrible but so apropo to human nature. How could you be so desperate you could actually kill your twin, yourself? I will always wonder how this Sam Carter prospered after the decisions she made. Would her conscience ever nag her for this? Did honor, self respect or compassion even enter her mind? Most of us never have to face the question what price would we pay to survive. This chapter should leave you thoughtful and grateful you may never face the question.
