I like it. I can definitely see, Neal leaving this episode. Peter's actions were all over the map and somebody needs to call him on his actions. I only wish Mozzie realized that sometimes he was not talking to Neal. I would think that after being friends for over 10 years, he would recognize a difference in Neal's actions.
It was a conscious decision to leave Mozzie unaware. Him noticing would make a very different story. In my own interpretations of Mozzie, he likes to talk far more than he likes to listen, and as he's not looking for Neal to be someone else, he's not going to see it, not least because Bryce gives him no reason to suspect he's not who he says he is; as we see with the manifest in canon, Neal has no problems lying to/hiding things from Mozzie when he wants to (even if his reasons were different).
I am glad you liked it enough to comment, even if the story you wanted was different - that's how I started writing: "They're doing it wrong!" Maybe you'll be similarly inspired? ;)
