Oh, I can see what a difficult conversation this is for them to have, and I loved the echoes of Alan's case, and most of it an argument over wording, but meaning so much more. I enjoyed this!
Thank you for your kind words! I felt like Alan never really got enough of an outlet on the show to talk about his feelings around Denny's illness. Around Denny and his madness, he was always encouraging and supportive, or (especially later on) exasperated and angry...but the complex sense of dread and anguish that he must certainly have also felt was something he couldn't or wouldn't express. "The Mighty Rogues" was, I thought, the closest we ever got--and he was really reluctant and unhappy about going there, even though Denny seemed totally willing to let him. I thought I would try to rectify that a bit.
