Summary
With the first semester of culinary school completed, Arthur, Eames, and Ariadne continue to hone their skills in the culinary arts, focusing a bit more deeply on courses that will help them get the sort of job they want, upon completion of their degrees. This semester, as part of the curriculum (and to help them get an idea of what a job in the culinary industry looks like, outside the classroom), they each have the opportunity to take an internship with a bakery or restaurant in the Los Angeles area. As they get a good look at what a real professional kitchen looks like, they also test their respective relationships and friendships, discovering whether they can take the heat, after all. Eames had to remind himself to calm down; one kiss—fuck, they'd kissed!—was not a reason for a big gay panic. He genuinely wasn't homophobic, but he was genuinely a having-a-gay-man-date-and-kiss-me-phobic. He was anti-personally-actually-being-in-a-same-sex-relationship, as he felt most firmly straight men were.
Arthur was frowning, brow tight, and Eames's forging eye didn't fall for his attempting, casual tone. This had hurt Arthur; Eames could see it in the set of his shoulders and the way he couldn't look at Eames for more than a moment.
"I'm so sorry," Eames said uselessly. Arthur have a shakily little nod, running his fingers through his fringe. "I'm not—it's not a problem," he rambled. "I just don't. I'm not gay." -

Summary
Arthur is dead and someone needs to tell his family. Following a job that had gone terribly wrong, Eames heads to Arthur's childhood home to tell Arthur's family of his death when Cobb refused to do it. There, he finds solace with the people who loved Arthur as much as he did. Eames learns of Arthur's past, his life away from dreamshare, and, painfully enough, what might have been between them.

Summary
Dom was Arthur's doctoral adviser in an archeology program that specializes underwater artifacts. Eames was part of a group of deep-water scuba diers that looted shipwrecks for fun and profit. So obviously they were rivals--although in Arthur and Eames' case, rivals with a bit of an angry flirtation going on. But then Mal disappears, likely due to suicide, and Dom loses his tenure and racks up enormous legal bills defending himself against murder accusations. So he takes off to become a treasure hunter, hoping to a score big enough to provide for his broken family. Arthur abandons his degree and follow on Dom's heels.
When the story starts, Saito has approached Dom and Arthur to undertake a mission to recover some generation's-old family treasure. Dom recruits former rival Eames and gas-blending chemist Yusuf to join the team. Arthur brings Ari on board as the mission's cook. Once they're all together, Arthur is forced to confront a lot of his misconceptions about Eames and to question his blind loyalty to Dom as he and Eames repeatedly find themselves in dangerous situations and have to learn to trust each other completely.

This is the art I made for the amazing fic "Five Seconds" by SlashyDrunkard.
I was very lucky to have worked with this talented (and patient) author and I'm very proud of our collaboration.
"Five Seconds" is a story of growing up, set in the 1980s. I tried to convey the spirit of the era and this story in the art.

In the early days of illicit dreamshare, Mal and Dom Cobb are poised to take the extraction world by storm. All they need is a point man. Enter Arthur, a brilliant eighteen year old with a strange connection to dreamshare and a miserable work and living situation. As Mal, Dom, and Arthur begin to work on their first extraction together, the first incarnation of the team is born.
Fast forward nine years. Arthur is only one of the original team left in the business. Things have gotten dangerous in the extraction community, with the vague threat of a new generation of extraction teams that are forming and quickly becoming violent, ruthless in their pursuit to make it to the top. Unsurprisingly, the best team in the business is most at risk. Because of this, Arthur, Ariadne and Eames have to take...a short sabbatical to throw the violent new teams off their trail and get back on their feet. However, this is quickly interrupted when they are captured by enemies. The only difference from all the other times something similar has happened is this: it's real life, now.
