I am still basically looking for the first episode of the show: our new recruit is the viewpoint character, and hoo boy, Hogwarts didn't exactly prepare Our Hero for this, or for working with the legendary Harry Potter…

What was happening within the Aurors during Harry's sixth year? Harry sees the Ministry as terribly ineffective; it would be interesting to get the other side of the coin? For instance, was Stan Shunpike merely a public perception game e.g. the Aurors knew he was innocent all along and merely used him as a scapegoat to look competent, as Harry supposes, or was his arrest an honest mistake which could not be reversed, for fear of looking incompetent?
I'd be very interested in something from the pov of the new Head Auror, Gawain Robards. What was his relationship with Rufus Scrimgeour like at this time; were they close friends who'd risen through the ranks together or merely allies/colleagues; did they eventually become estranged because of Rufus's policies, or did Robards remain loyal? And what was it like, running an office during such a time of chaos, dealing with the arrest of Shunpike and the weerwolf attack on the Montgomery boy?
Or, take the year from the pov of any of the other Aurors, and discuss the change in leadership, and their own reactions to the events detailed above.

I'd like to see Ron in Auror training and/or his first couple of years as an Auror, and how it does or doesn't affect his relationship with Hermione. Mostly because I'd like to see a Ron who comes into his own, the way he started doing in Deathly Hallows. Leader!Ron earns bonus points.

We know that Neville's Auror-trained, but never actually became an Auror, instead settling down at Hogwarts as a professor. What happened? Was the training too much for him? Was there one case that put him off fighting the good fight? Or, perhaps...one person? (If you indulge me with HP/NL slash I will adore you forever.)

Summary
Some poor, unlucky Auror -- probably Muggle-born -- gets assigned to work undercover . . . among the Muggle police. There s/he has to figure out how to operate in a world without Veritaserum or Accio Murder Weapon, a world where the criminals may shoot back (so, er, maybe this isn't Britain?) and you're not allowed to Expelliarmus the gun out of their hands. (Remember the scene in Sleeping Beauty where the fairies try to make a dress and a birthday cake without magic? Like that, only with less comic results.) But despite all those troubles, s/he finds that Aurors are too reliant on their wands to solve every problem, and learns to make use of good, old-fashioned observation and deduction. Do the other Aurors view this as being like using stitches to sew up wounds?

Any rating! One character must go deep undercover to gather information about an organization and its activities. During the process they get close to one person in particular. Does that person know they're an Auror? Do they act as an informant? Or do they know but play it to sinister advantage?

Any rating, any pairing(s)! Would love femslash among 2 or more of the characters but no romance is fine as well. Something that deals with one of the stated characters uncovering an underground trafficking ring (in goods, people, intelligence, your choice), and having to work with one of the other characters to bring it down. One could be an Auror, the other a reporter working the crime beat, they could both be Aurors, maybe one gets caught in things via wrong place, wrong time circumstances, your choice!

There is a new up and coming Dark wizard, causing death and mayhem in both the Wizarding and Muggle worlds. Imagine what happens when the Auror(s) investigating realizes all the evidence points to the son of Harry Potter.
While Albus and Harry can be involved, I would really love for this fic to focus on the team of original Aurors in charge of this investigation, rather than on Albus or Harry. I like my fic dark, so while it's up to you whether or not Albus is really guilty, I wouldn't be heartbroken if he is.
