Their best chance at beating the Goa'uld is a Goa'uld, specifically a rebel named Jolinar who has taken Sam as a host. With Jolinar's allegiance uncertain, she must win over the trust of the Tau'ri and their leaders before she can return to the Tok'ra to forge an alliance that could change the galaxy.

Story Nine Summary: Martouf and Lantash are on their way back to the tunnels at last. Engine trouble is slowing them slightly, but it shouldn't hold them up for very long. Sam, Malek, Devlin, and Daniel are waiting for Per'sus to arrive, so they can fill him in on what has been happening to them. However, before Per'sus arrives, Delek is found...barely alive...and Malek is being accused of being the one that attacked and beat him. Some of the Tok'Ra council members are pushing to have Malek detained in a holding cell. Daniel is making plans to circumvent that happening.

Malek goes for the healer and the two of them return to Sam’s room where she is worsening rapidly. The healer discovers what is making her ill and it is not a virus, but something that may be much more sinister.

Story Summary: Although Sam just returned from a mission, Lantash and Martouf are urgently needed to rescue Aldwin and Korra from a System Lord that they have dealt with successfully in the past. Sam is coming down with a cold, so she thinks it is just as well they will be gone for the next few days as it will give her a chance to recover from it. Lantash/Martouf discuss Malek/Devlin’s request to become her second-mate and exactly what that means in real terms. They approve of the addition to their household, but it is up to Sam. She decides that she would like to have them join her and her mates in the very old bonding called, for now anyway, Siaf’kesh’cor, Five Bound by the Heart.
