It's the time you've all been waiting for. Time to sharpen your pencils, fire up your calculators, open the tax law...and write some fic!

The deadline is, as always, the US income tax filing deadline, April 15 unless that falls on a weekend. (In 2012 that makes the deadline Tuesday 4/17.)

1) Taxes must be involved. Any kind of taxes. Individual, corporate, estate, gift, federal, state, sales, excise, property...anything you can think of to tie to the concept of taxation.
2) Vocabulary: Each year has a "bonus" word or words--accrual, depletion, etc--that you can use in its tax sense or in any other sense you can find.
3) Any fandom, any classification, any pairing or lack thereof is welcome.
4) Aim for 500+ words, although I won't be wordcounting. Extra super super special bonus points, and possibly a cookie, for a fic that's precisely 1040 words long.
